MRR bridge
The MRR bridge is a waterfall chart that shows how your MRR got from the start of the selected date range to the end. The first bar is where you started, every bar in between is one kind of movement, and the last bar is where you ended up. Board decks call it an MRR or ARR bridge.
It's the Bridge tab in the MRR report group, next to MRR and Movements. The ARR report has the same tab, showing the bridge in ARR.

Reading the bridge
- The first bar is your MRR at the end of the day before the date range starts.
- The bars in between are the movements during the range: New, Expansion and Reactivation step up, Contraction and Churn step down. Paused, Resumed, FX impact and Entered / Left segment appear when they happened in the range.
- The last bar is your MRR at the end of the range, or today if the range runs to today.
The steps always add up to the difference between the two totals. If any part of the change isn't explained by a movement, it gets a bar of its own, Other, so nothing is hidden.
When your total MRR is much larger than the movements, the two total bars are shortened, marked with a break, so the movements stay large enough to read.
Hover a bar to see its amount, the number of customers behind it and its share of the starting MRR.
The table
Below the chart, a table lists the same steps: the starting MRR, each movement with its amount, the number of customers and its share of the starting MRR, and the ending MRR with the total change in percent.
Same numbers as the Movements report
Each bar is the total of that movement in the Movements report over the same date range, with the same filters and exchange rates. The bridge is the whole range summed into one picture. Movements shows the same changes period by period.
ARR bridge
The Bridge tab in the ARR report shows the same bridge in ARR: every bar is the MRR value multiplied by 12.
Date range and filters
The date range decides the start and the end of the bridge, so pick a month, a quarter or a year to see what moved in it. The bridge supports the standard filters and the currency selector (see all filters). Filter by plan, region or channel to see where growth came from and where it was lost.
Sharing the bridge
Open the ⋯ menu above the chart and choose Download image… to save the bridge as an image for a deck or a board report (more on chart images).
Practical tips
- Compare quarters. Set the range to one quarter, note the bars, then move to the next. Shifts in the size of churn against new business show up faster than in a growth rate.
- Watch expansion against churn. If expansion covers churn, your existing customers grow on their own and new business is pure growth.
- Check FX impact. For accounts with customers in several currencies, the FX impact bar separates exchange-rate effects from real customer movements.
