Discounts
The Discounts report shows the discounts you give: how much they're worth, how many customers get them, and how much of your list price you give away. The revenue lines in the Cashflow report are already after discounts, so this is where you see what the discounts cost you.
You'll find it in the Cashflow tab group, under Discounts.
Overview

Timeline chart
The chart shows the discounts given per period. The Show selector next to the interval switches between:
- Amount – the value of the discounts, in your reporting currency
- Customers – how many customers paid with a discount
- Percentage – your discount rate: discounts as a share of the list price, which is what your customers would have paid without them
Below the chart, a strip shows the totals for the whole date range: the discounts given, the discounted payments and the discount rate.
Table
| Row | Description |
|---|---|
| Discounts given | The value of the discounts on your customers' payments |
| Customers with a discount | How many customers paid with a discount |
| Discounted payments | How many payments had a discount |
| Discount rate | Discounts as a share of the list price |
Click an amount to list the discounts behind it: the date, the customer (click to open their profile), the coupon's name where your billing system gives one, and the amount, in the original currency and your reporting currency.
Grouping discounts
Use the group-by selector to split discounts by plan, market, country, currency, payment method, customer age, data source or a custom field. Each group gets a row in the table, in the colour of its bar in the chart. Grouped by plan, you see which plans you discount the most, and with Percentage, how much of each plan's list price you give away. Rates don't add up, so then the groups are drawn as lines. A discount on a whole invoice, rather than on one plan, shows as No plan.

Practical tips
- Follow the discount rate: a rate that keeps climbing means more of your growth is bought with discounts.
- Check where they go: group by plan to see whether discounts sit on the plans you meant them for.
- Introductory offers end: a discount rate that drops while the number of customers with a discount holds steady often means offers are expiring. Watch churn in the months after.
